The Arena District Grand Rapids is always looking for outgoing, motivated, and creative students or individuals that wish to gain experience in Event Planning, Public Relations, Social Media, and Nonprofit Management. Interns will be working with businesses in West Michigan’s most exciting neighborhood: Downtown Grand Rapids!
Currently, all internships are unpaid, for credit or non-credit, and positions are offered on a rolling basis, based on an individual’s experience and interest. The Arena District hosts several events throughout the year; events interns are involved with the planning of these events from start to finish: planning, execution, and post-evaluation. Interns assist with planning signature Arena District events, as well as having the opportunity to pitch & execute their own event ideas.
Public Relations Interns are responsible for writing press releases, building content for collateral materials, and promoting the Arena District brand as a whole.
SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING
The Arena District uses Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn to promote programs, events, and members. These interns are responsible for creating and publishing content and implementing social media campaigns.
The Arena District is a 501c6 nonprofit organization with a 5 member Board of Director, 35 member restaurants, with a focus on economic development in Grand Rapids, MI. This Intern will help with strategic planning exercises, membership recruitment, sponsorship, advocacy, and general office duties.
